What equipment do I need?Regular gym clothing, a gym hand towel, jandals and a bottle of water will get you started. The ProStore.nz, based at our academies, is equipped with everything you need for continued self-improvement through martial arts! Each discipline at Titan Training Ground has specialized requirements. At the same time, all martial arts have essential core needs, as listed below. Our experienced team can guide you through what you need. Core martial arts equipment: Jandals to wear when walking off the training mats, a gym hand towel, a water bottle, running shoes, a mouth guard, and a groin guard. What equipment is required for sparring?Having the right equipment for full-contact sports is crucial in preventing personal injury and injury to others. This assurance allows you to approach your training or competition confidently, knowing that you have taken the necessary steps to protect yourself and others. All disciplines require: - A fitted mouth guard - A fitted groin guard All disciplines which include strikes require; - MMA or Muay Thai sparring grade shin guards - Elbow pads - Knee Pads - Suitable gloves; The selection of gloves depends on the individual's weight: - 16-oz gloves for individuals weighing 70 kg or more - 14-oz gloves for those weighing less than 70 kg - 12-oz gloves for individuals weighing less than 50 kg. - Gloves for effective weapon sparring need to protect the hand, fingers, and wrists. - Headgear with cheek protection becomes necessary when elbow and weapon strikes are involved during sparring. - Headgear with closed full faced protection is required for effective weaponry sparring. For Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a properly fitted BJJ Gi including full length pants and rash guard. For No-Gi submission grappling MMA or No-Gi shorts (no external pockets), a rash guard, and compression boxer briefs. Torso protection is optional but recommended for harder sparring sessions or if students are competing in a competition which requires torso protection.
